The Ultimate Crapshoot

One of the most favorite things for all die-hard sports fans to do is guess, I mean predict, what their favorite teams will do. It can range from completely random ramblings over a few beers at the bar to detailed breakdowns of your favorite NFL team's offensive line and how it will neutralize the pass rush of other teams in your division. Long story short, it makes sports talk what it is...fun.

However, it always takes me back when I see advanced guesses as to how upcoming seasons will turn out. More specifically, the prognosticators who target the college football bowl season as well as the NCAA tournament. These two people are paid to very specifically outright guess at what will happen in late November (bowl selection) and March (bracket announced). I can understand accurately selecting the teams who make a bowl or the big dance, but also selecting who they will play??? Seems a bit much, I wonder what their hit rate is when it is all said and done? But that is half the fun of it I guess.

Besides, how can I really argue with having the Buckeyes in the National Championship Game and the Blue Devils as a #1 seed?
